Nominations are accepted from the public. Resume format is acceptable. Be sure to include the nominee's high school, years played, stats if available, awards and honors, team record, etc. All nominations will be confirmed by either email or letter. 
 
Anyone who has played high school football in the state of Texas. This includes participants in the UIL, TAPPS, and the PVIL. Every year nine individuals are inducted. One from each of the following categories &endash; Pre 1940's, 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's, 1990's, Coach, Special Category.
 
The special category is reserved for sportswriters, athletic directors, administrators, or others who have contributed to Texas High School Football. 
 
In order to be inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame the nominee must attend the banquet.   
 
A 24 member selection committee elects new members to the hall of fame. The committee is comprised of coaches and sportswriters along with 8 members of the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame Board of Directors. Eddie Joseph, the former Executive Vice President of the Texas High School Coaches Association, is the chairman of the selection committee. 
 
Nominations should be submitted by February 1st.   The banquet is held the following Spring usually in March or April. Nominations should be submitted to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame by email or letter and will be forwarded to the committee.
