The Texas High School Football Hall of Fame has announced its class of inductees for the year 2005. The Induction Banquet for this year's class was held on May 7, 2005 at Baylor University's Ferrell Center.  Prior to the banquet, a press conference was held at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.   Class of 2005 Aultman Smith - Abilene High School - Pre 1940's George Strohmeyer Jr. - McAllen High School - 1940's Tommy Ford - San Angelo High School - 1950's Larry Shields - Wichita Falls High School - 1960's  Brad Shearer - Austin Westlake High School - 1970's Mike Welch - Sweetwater High School - 1980's Lloyd Hill - Odessa Permian High School - 1990's Frank Dickson - Special Category Gene Mayfield - Coach    The banquet honored each of the new inductees as well as the coaches of the 10 state championship teams from the past season. The 2005 Tom Landry Award was presented along with the 2004 Gordon Wood Award.
